Kings Island is bringing a new themed area with two new rides to the amusement park in 2023.The park announced the new themed area called Adventure Port will be located between Coney Mall and Action Zone.It will feature two new family rides, enhanced theming for Adventure Express, and two new restaurant areas.The new rides include the Sol Spin, where visitors can climb aboard an open air, suspended passenger vehicles to experience the thrill of flying 60 feet through the air at 25 m.p.h.Another featured ride is the Cargo Loco, where visitors can spin around in shipping barrel designed rides. Guests can also dine at new restaurant areas, The Mercado and Enrique's, which features traditional burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads and sides."What I love about Adventure Port is that we've taken parts of the Adventure Express story and built upon it to create this new themed area," Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island, said in a statement. "When guests who have been coming to the park for years visit this area for the first time, the story will feel familiar, but it will be told in a whole new way."The park teased the announcement on Tuesday, posting a picture of its iconic Eiffel Tower statue with the caption, "What's new for 2023? Visit our website tomorrow to find out! Let the speculation begin."The park is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is currently open on weekends for Halloween Haunt and its family event, Tricks and Treats Fall Fest.
